<p>Areas of Special Concern (ASC) identify mapped locations where additional development standards apply due to environmental, cultural, scenic, transportation, public facility, or noise-impact considerations. ASC overlays include natural resource protection areas such as watersheds, wildlife habitat, scenic corridors, archaeological sites, and historic resources, as well as land-use and infrastructure-related overlays such as Goal 11 exception areas, noise-impact zones, industrial planning areas, and transit or transportation corridors.
