Areas of Special Concern (ASC) identify mapped locations where additional development standards apply due to environmental, cultural, scenic, transportation, public facility, or noise-impact considerations. ASC overlays include natural resource protection areas such as watersheds, wildlife habitat, scenic corridors, archaeological sites, and historic resources, as well as land-use and infrastructure-related overlays such as Goal 11 exception areas, noise-impact zones, industrial planning areas, and transit or transportation corridors. Each ASC includes regulations tailored to its specific purpose, as described in Sections 7.1.1 and 7.3.3 of the Jackson County Land Development Ordinance (LDO)<\/p>
